The Advanced School Staffing team is brimful of recruiters who are passionate about helping therapists find their calling in diverse schools around the nation. Elle Celestino is our Lead Schools Recruiter. Originally from Alaska, Elle has been working in our Broomfield, Colorado office for two years. She works with PTs, OTs, and SLPs, but has a soft spot in her heart for building relationships with CF-SLPs.
What do you love about your job?
I believe that all the experience I had prior to recruiting prepared me to do what I do now, and do it well. I bring everything I have and invest it into the people I work with every day. Building relationships with my therapists gives my days meaning.
What makes you unique as a recruiter?
I know SLP clinical fellows better than most. I understand what they need, their fears, ambitions, and the field they love. I know that they need guidance from someone they trust, so I build real friendships with my CFs. I sincerely care about who they want to become, and I have the analytical, strategic, and relational skills to help them reach their goals.
What’s your favorite traveler story?
I love getting the opportunity to actually sit face-to-face with my therapists. I once met a therapist at ASHA, and then again at TSHA. We had lunch together and a real heart-to-heart. She confided in me about her fears and stresses and I felt honored to be a part of her support system. We are still very close and she knows she can call me to talk about anything and everything. Moments and stories like these are what stand out to me.
Do you have any advice for new grad and CF travelers?
When it comes to your career, you should do your research, but when it’s time to make a decision, make it for yourself and not anyone else.
How do you spend your time when you’re not recruiting?
I’m a bodybuilder and I love the science behind fitness, health, and nutrition. I love fashion and make-up, probably more than I should. I’ve also got a love for the outdoors, so I hike whenever I get the chance.
